About Me

I have been a Bartlett, IL resident since 2009 and knew I wanted to have a service position in our community. I began volunteering with the Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, I was appointed to the Economic Development Commission, and in 2020 Mayor Kevin Wallace appointed me to the Village Board. I ran for election in 2021, winning a four-year term (2021-2025).

Stephanie Gandsey volunteers with her daughter at Bartlett's Oktoberfest

I enjoy helping with community events as a way to bring residents and their friends together. Events in Bartlett also support our local businesses.

I am active in our Bartlett Rotary group that helps to put on Bartlett’s Oktoberfest at the end of September.

Goals for Bartlett, IL

As a Trustee, I want to continue looking for ways to improve life for residents. I am always looking to see how policy and other changes are impacting plans and how our board can ensure Bartlett’s future is one we can look forward to with pride. Some of my proudest accomplishments include bringing a grocery store to Bartlett (Aldi in Streets of Bartlett), keeping our tax rate low while looking for opportunities to save, supporting Business Economic Development Assistant grants to bring in new businesses, and keeping our community an enjoyable and safe place to live through our board decisions.

Committed to Supporting

Residents

Supporting and enhancing the lifestyle we enjoy in Bartlett is my biggest reason for being on the Village Board. Here are some issues I helped identify and solve.

Helping Residents with Excessive and Dangerous Cut-Through Traffic

A resident reached out to me about the excessive and dangerous traffic in front of his home on North Ave. I was able to connect him with the Village and Police Department to conduct studies and provide more enforcement.

Creating a Plan for Residents with A Deteriorating Creek Bed in Their Backyards

As I was walking around meeting residents, I had a homeowner on Country Creek alert me to the deteriorating creek bed that was taking their backyards foot after foot. Village officials were able to come out and there is currently a plan to help re-stabilize the creek bed.

Background

I moved to Bartlett, IL in 2009 and have lived in Illinois for my entire life. I always enjoyed helping my community, beginning in my hometown of Hampshire and now my chosen town of Bartlett.
