Stephanie Gandsey, Village of Bartlett Trustee
Community involvement is important to me and that’s why I sought out an elected position. I moved to Bartlett, IL in 2009 and knew I wanted to be part of planning the future of our village. Appointed to the village board in August 2020, I ran a campaign for the April 2021 election and won a seat for the 2021-2025 term.
My Path to the Village Board
In 2017, I attended an event at Village Hall, but was the only person to show up.
I chatted with people from the village and discovered an opening on the Economic Development Commission. After applying, the mayor appointed me to the commission where I got to offer input and suggestions each month. During my tenure, the Business Economic Development Assistance grants began, and sales-tax-producing businesses became eligible to receive funds generated by gaming machines.
In 2020, after a trustee suddenly passed away, I was appointed to the Bartlett Village Board. Since the term was up in 2021, I ran a campaign for election in April 2021. Our current board has been part of many positive, sustainable changes for Bartlett, including supporting businesses and residents through the pandemic, bringing a new grocery store to our downtown, keeping the tax rate the same or lower, and ensuring resident services improve.
What I Offer You as a Resident of Bartlett, IL
I feel fortunate to live in a wonderful community and want to serve every resident of Bartlett. I serve as a connection point for you to the right decision-maker. It’s important to hear from residents when there are issues so our board can hear all sides of a problem. I offer you a voice in public meetings and a guide through the process of making change.
Outside of the Village Board
My background is in marketing and communication and I’ve worked with public libraries, an electric utility tool company, CPA firms, and other professional services. I like to envision what the future could look like and get excited to help others see the path forward. I’m active as President in the Bartlett Rotary that not only supports events in the community, but causes across the United States and worldwide.
I have a husband and two children and we take advantage of all the great things in Bartlett such as youth sports, restaurants, bike paths, and especially our neighborhood. I practice martial arts with my two children. I am an assistant coach on my son’s team for Bartlett Raiders Football. I also cheer on my son for Northwest Hawks Lacrosse and my daughter at Bartlett gymnastics.
